About

I am the 2011-2013 Jimmy and Dee Haslam Postdoctoral Fellow in the Marco Institute for Medieval and Renaissance Studies, at the University of Tennessee. I'm very excited to be with Marco and in the beautiful city of Knoxville. I'll be working for 2 years on my project, "The Priest as Doctor and Doctor as Priest: The Medicalization of Religion in Europe ca. 1100-1350". I am particularly interested in the application of medical theory to religious and theological ideas such as confession, the Eucharist, and Paradise.
